Treadmill Workout #1

Add some push to your treadmill workout!  Get out of your comfort zone and make some change! Do you have 30 minutes to spend at the gym?  Try this 30-minute treadmill workout, which you can walk, walk-run or run. You may need to adjust your base pace and go slower as the “work” intervals get more challenging.  Give it a try!  Download our PDF and keep it handy!

5 minute warm up at a pace that feels more than easy but less than hard, 1.0% incline (base pace)

1 minute at a pace that feels HARD and uncomfortable
2 minutes at base pace

1 minute at your hard pace – match or beat what you did last time
2 minutes at your base pace

1 minute at a hard pace that leaves you almost breathless – match or beat your speed from the previous push
2 minutes at base pace

1 minute at hard pace – 3.0% incline – match or beat your last speed
2 minutes at base pace

1 minute at hard pace – 3.0% incline – match or beat your last speed
2 minutes at base pace

1 minute at hard pace – 3.0% incline – beat your last speed
2 minutes at base pace

1 minute at hard pace – 4.0% incline – beat your last speed
2 minutes at base pace

2 minutes at 3.0 speed and 0% incline
2 minutes stretch – hamstrings, quads, glutes and calves
